Let’s Fight Back

The Neurolog Program uses non-pharmaceutical interventions backed by peer-reviewed scientific evidence to fight underlying causes of neurodegeneration.

Our Program is designed to help people to prevent or fight early-stage neurodegenerative disorders.

Our interventions help people fight neurodegeneration, track progress, and stay motivated along the way.

We are currently taking expressions of interest from people with early-stage Parkinson’s to join our Program.

Parkinson’s

Parkinson’s disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder that gradually affects movement, balance, and coordination.

Alzheimer’s

Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder that gradually impairs memory, thinking, and daily functioning.

Huntington’s

Huntington’s disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder that gradually impairs movement, cognition, and emotional control.

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)

ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder that gradually impairs muscle strength, movement, and breathing.

A goal of the Program is to improve quality of life and extend years of independent living.

Our potent low-risk interventions are the ingredients.

Our iterative three-step framework is the recipe for long-term success.

Onboarding

  • We start with a detailed baseline assessment that is used as a reference point to track your progress.

  • Defining a clear set of goals will help you stay committed. Think of these goals as a personal mission statement that will serve as your north star to keep you on track.

  • We will work together to set a schedule, so you can integrate the Program into your life. We will help you to reserve the required time, without detracting from other important things in life.

Step One
Take Action

  • Knowledge is power.

    We will guide you on what interventions are most effective, and also provide systematic protocols for implementing them.

    Our educational content is designed to inform how the interventions tackle neurodegeneration. We believe an important part of staying committed is understanding how the interventions are working, so you truly believe that you have agency and control.

  • Our interventions target underlying causes of neurodegeneration. They are safe and easy to implement.

    Our interventions cover:

    • exercise and mobility;

    • sleep;

    • nutrition;

    • cognitive exercises;

    • group activities;

    • exclusive access to digital tools and other technologies that take the fight to the next level.

  • Biomarker tracking makes our Program unique.

    Measurements are an essential ingredient in effective coaching. We also strongly believe that tracking progress quantitatively will help you to stay committed and energised.

    We track:

    • health biomarkers;

    • symptoms;

    • healthy habits;

    • medications and side-effects.

    We collect data using smartphones/tablets, online surveys/questionnaires, and wearable devices (like an Apple Watch).

  • An important part of our program is one-on-one fortnightly coaching sessions. Our coaches will keep you on track by helping with:

    • personalising the Program to your goals and unique situation;

    • guidance on protocols to implement the interventions;

    • data-driven feedback;

    • motivation;

    • additional information and any questions.

  • Community events are both fun and informative. Importantly, research shows that joining a like-minded and supportive community increases your likelihood of success.

    We encourage participants to attend our optional:

    • group exercise classes;

    • group educational seminars;

    • support groups;

    • group cooking classes.

Step Two
Assess Progress

  • At the end of each 12 week block we will take a deep dive to assess your progress. A 12 week period for each block allows sufficient time to formally assess what is working, and what needs refinement.

  • At the end of each block you will receive a report to share with your doctor, which may help them tailor their care and provide additional insights.

  • Implementing our interventions is easy. The hardest part is putting in a consistent effort, so we will schedule rewards to help keep you on track.

Step Three
Refine and Iterate (to Step One)

  • As you progress, we will help you to go deeper to extract more benefits from the interventions that are working well for you.

  • For interventions that are not delivering the results we expect, or not integrating well into your lifestyle, we will help you adjust as required.

  • We will progressively and systematically introduce new interventions as you progress through the Program. A systematic approach is important to maximise potential benefits and to stay committed.

Most pharmaceutical treatments address symptoms, not underlying causes of neurodegeneration.

Causes of neurodegenertion.

Abnormal Brain Rhythms

Abnormal brain rhythms emerge when neurons fire out of sync, disrupting normal communication patterns and affecting how the brain processes information.

Reduced Neurotrophins

Reduced levels of neurotrophins can limit the ability of neurons to survive, grow, and adapt, increasing vulnerability to damage and disease progression.

Mitochondrial Dysfunction

When the mitochondria within our cells don’t work as they should, our brain cells struggle to get enough energy, contributing to neurodegenerative conditions.

Protein Aggregation

In some neurodegenerative disorders, proteins fold incorrectly and clump together, disrupting normal cell processes and contributing to cell damage.

Oxidative Stress

Oxidative stress occurs when harmful free radicals build up and overwhelm a cell’s defenses, causing damage and contributing to disease progression.

Neuroinflammation

Neuroinflammation occurs when the brain’s immune system becomes overactive, releasing harmful substances that speed up disease progression.
